FIBROMYALGIA
Fibromyalgia has become one of the most common disorders in the USA as well as around the world. This condition affects more than 10 million people in the U.S. alone, and an estimated 3-6% of the population worldwide. With a condition like this affecting so many people, why isn’t more known about it? And why are the conventional treatments (drugs, drugs, and more drugs) so inadequate? It seems that every few years new theories evolve (along with more drugs), but no real solution appears to be found. And Fibromyalgia sufferers get sicker, and sicker and sicker…

One of the reasons this appears to be the case is that Traditional medicine is looking for a single cause, where this condition is more properly defined as a “Syndrome”, meaning that it has multiple causes and body systems that are affected. There are a number of symptoms that are universal for Fibromyalgia, such as whole body pain, fatigue, brain fog and digestive problems, to name a few, but each individual is unique and should be fully assessed both with examination and lab tests to determine which body systems are not working properly and why. A symptom based approach with drugs for each symptom simply does not work! What’s worse, many of the drugs commonly used to treat Fibromyalgia often produce the very symptoms that they are intended to treat! For example, Lyrica, Cymbalta, Hydrocodone, Oxycontin, Flexeril all can produce drowsiness and body pain. Antidepressants can cause depression and suicidal tendencies, Sleep medications often leave you feeling more tired when you wake. Most all of these can produce digestive problems….

Dr. Kedwards has successfully been treating Fibromyalgia for over 25 years. She gained her knowledge and experience with this condition through having it and overcoming it in herself, and then applying that knowledge to those she has treated throughout the years. She is the author of the groundbreaking book “FIBROMYALGIA – What You Need To Know”.
Her approach is holistic and her protocols are based on the individual, not just a “one size fits all” approach. After a thorough examination, including necessary lab tests, she works to address the causes rather than the symptoms. And her results speak for themselves. Just listen to a few of the testimonials of patients she has treated.
